The Basics of Caterpillar 259D Track Size
The Caterpillar 259D is one of the most versatile compact track loaders that Caterpillar has produced.
Track Width: The 259D uses a 320mm wide track as the standard equipment. This is commonly referred to as a narrow track but it is actually the standard equipment size that comes with the 249D. There are two sizes that you can equip your machine with. You have the choice of going with a 320mm wide track or a 400mm wide track. The 400mm track is commonly referred to a “wide” track. If having a narrow track isn’t a requirement for your job, you can look to go with a wider option at 400mm. A wider track will provide more stability with heavier loads as well as distributing the weight across more surface area, resulting in lower ground pressure.
Track Pitch: The track pitch is 86mm
Track Links: The track links are 53
